I have finally got my date for returning to work. From Monday I'm on annual leave for 6 weeks then a phased return from 4th March ( 10 days before the year anniversary of my stroke). I plan to use the next 6 weeks building up my strength and stamina ready for work. ?♀️?♀️
I have read the posts from fellow S.S's and hope to remember your advice. I am excited but also apprehensive. It's what I wanted from 2 minutes after my stroke. To get back to normal. I know that's not possible and embrace my new normal. Most of the time. ????
Starting back to the gym after my fall and getting a tiny ulcer on my stroke affected foot. Found you lose strength and coordination if you stop doing regular exercise. Deep joy!
Hi Kay - good to hear from you, and I'm excited for your return to work!! Make the most of the next few weeks, they'll fly by - bloomin' annoying to get an ulcer, let's hope that clears up PDQ. You're a tough cookie with a great attitude your employer is lucky to have you ? ? xxx Up and On you go ..
Hi Kay, what about the job you took on as Nic’s side-kick in all these exercises SS are supposed to do? Ah, yes! You’ll do both jobs at once, lol! ??♂️?♂️?♀️
Seriously, though, it’s great to hear your news about going back to work. But, HEY, take it easy! Slowly, slowly said the monkey! We’ll look forward to hearing how you conquered the Stroke demon!
As I will only be working 3 days a week.and only doing four hours per day. I should be able to continue as Nic's side-kick. I will have to increase my exercise levels to improve my fitness and stamina which will help me do my job. ?♀️?♀️?♀️
I will make sure I do things slowly especially in the beginning I really need my job( money) ??
Phew thought I was going to be on my Jack Jones. Shame I only pay in kind - cake & chocs, won't really help the bank balance ? p'raps we'll win the stroke lottery (if I can find my numbers, or knew where to check!!) xxx
Good luck Kay - I hope you enjoy the last six weeks and you manage to build your strength and stamina up. Remember to get lots of rest too and don't put too much pressure on yourself.
