Back home

Hello wonderful folks!

I just got home from a wonderful holiday in Kos ; I managed to swim 2km a couple of days ago… but I wish I could walk that far !!

Here’s a query, if anyone would be so kind… PIP paid me on 02 July and 30 July, but I’ve seen no entry for August and nothing this month either. If anyone has an idea why, could you please leave me a clue?

Always some crisis… plus I have a nasty sore on my lip ; my sister says she gets these with the sun & my Chinese Dr. says it looks like herpes ! Ouch !

Glad you had a great holiday Roland. Ans fantastic news on the swimming. I can’t swim that far but do enjoy a dip in the pool on holiday.

In relation to your pip i make it you should have received a payment 27th Aug. How long were you out the country for? If over 28 days they stop payment - assuming you told them of course.

Were you going through a review? It is possible that at review they have made a decision and stopped your PIP as a result.

If none of that applies or even if it does it sounds like you need to join the phone queue and find out what has happened. It could just be a glitch.

Hope your lip sore heals quickly. I always try and put some lipsil with sun protection on when I spend time in the sun.

Best wishes

Ann

Thx Ann,

Out the country 25 days…UC were doing a review, I believe
I think surfers and skiers use some sort of lipsil for this very purpose

Thx again, ciao, Roland

2km is quite a long way to swim. That must take some stamina and strength.
Well done.

Thx Manji,

Strokes are hard to understand.
I was quite relaxed after the swim, actually. But I cannot walk 2 km… yet

Hey Roland - I could be wrong, but as I understand it, swimming is good for you because the water supports your weight and I think the sea water is even more supportive.
Swimming is low impact and full body work out compared to say jogging.

I used to swim regularly until the pools closed down near where I live :frowning:

Hi Roland,
Glad to hear you had a great holiday, I too have found swimming great after my stroke, its certainly easier than walking and it defiantely has a relaxing effect for me. I also get the lip sores in the sun, I usually use Aciclovir cream as it seems to heal the sore relatively quickly.

I noticed and read with interest on a couple of your other posts about grounding and was wondering if you had tried grounding sheets on the bed and if so what the results were.

Is there an optimal amoun t of time to do grounding on gras that you have found beneficial.

All the best

Hello Liz

Thanks for your very helpful post. I find 30 minutes is minimum on grass (for the electrons to cover your whole body). 1 hour is ideal ; very often I do 2-4 hours on grass, depending on wind rain etc. A little rain doesn’t stop me !

I have never tried grounding sheets but maybe I will one day…some friends have it… but not easy to implement ; they wear down etc. Last night I slept with a wristband around one ankle, and a grounding mat by Hooga at the bottom of the bed (which my lower leg, ankles, feet connect with in case the wire unclips from my ankle-band).

As you may know, I consider grounding my 1st port-of-call when it comes to healing, and take it very seriously. The gut is always first to heal. The lip sore is healing but I’ll look into Aciclovir thx very much. Thx so much for you post ; hope you find a good solution for grounding sheets, take care, Roland

You can see my Hooga mat on my Youtube channel ; my wife has one too
