Fantastic @Bobbi i am so pleased you have got back on the road and a whole new (old) world has now opened up to you.
I’ve followed your journey from almost the beginning and you have come so far. You should be very proud of yourself. Iwill mention Hilary too at this point as i am sure she has been a massive support to you & no doubt you’ve given her a few more grey hairs too.
Although, I have no particular fancy in getting back behind the wheel myself, I am now looking forward to you picking me up in your Porsche 911 and taking us out for some metal detecting and a slice of boiled fruit cake. What say you? This Friday?
I won’t be able to make it on Friday .and I know you will accuse me of being attached to apron strings, but it does pain me to turn down a cake and a metal detecting venture.
@Rups You were one of the ‘old hands’ who inspired me with your cat walking and mushroom picking expeditions, I must say that I admire your forward steps and brave example. I hope you will continue to share your inspiration with us.
As folk have said to me, there is a need for this sort of stuff.
If anyone else reading this feels the urge to share please do not hold back. Your efforts and your stories encourage and cheer on the first steps and the hopes of others. We are all finding our way and can help one another by example.
@Unavailable
I’m putting together some more to write and share about mobility, I’ll publish eventually. It is fun to get behind the wheel again but recent weather reports are keeping me indoors right now.
Yes that sounds sensible. I decided the same today to stay at home instead of a several hour trip i had planned. Been tired this week, so that factored into the decison too. Its all about being sensible I suppose.
Im sure you will take things at a gentle pace, i hope all goes well with your return to being behind the wheel.
