Aphasia’s sound is silence

Hello colleagues and my friends. “Another song!” you’ll say, “again!”
But this title is on my brain and reveals that my aphasia’s sound is silence.

Very clever Graham. I enjoyed that & it is set to one of my favourite tunes.

I loved the song, couldn’t make out all the word but that’s more to do with my hearing tone deafness.

The words surprisingly ‘ran free and clear’ for me a few weeks ago. In a supermarket there was 4 10yr old girls running hell-for-leather up and down the aisles and payed no attention to 2 staff members who tried asking nicely for them to stop running. So by the 4th aisle I’d had more than enough and just wanted to abandon my shopping and leave. But no, I decided to put on my best impersonation of a teacher voice and shouted “stop running in the aisle, this is a busy supermarket not a play ground, you could cause a serious accident” Well, they stopped right in front of me and said “we weren’t running and there’s no need to shout”. My only reply was “walk, don’t run then”. And they did, right back to their “responsible adult” several aisles over :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

I turned to my daughter feeling very proud and pleased with myself because I got all that out in one go without any stall or stutter or forgotten words  Anyway, I got to finish my shopping in peace, because all the other shoppers had discretely left the aisle free and clear for me :rofl::rofl::smiling_face:

I’m not saying the shout improved my speech but that’s when I became aware of an improvement in my speech. And it certainly got my words out:laughing: It’s the first thing my daughter noticed as she suddenly became deeply engrossed examining the eggs while I was dealing with these girls  So my words are starting to run more free and clear now, and I haven’t noticed as slurring when tired. It’s taken 5yrs of recovery to get here but I’m hoping it pick up the pace a bit now that it’s started

And, to be fair to the girls, they nice girls, just a little overly excited, maybe a birthday or a sleep over or something :slightly_smiling_face:
