Anixiety after a stroke

BEEN A WHILE SINCE MY LAST POST AND LOT HAS HAPPENED.
REFERED MYSELF TO NHS TALKING THERPIES AND PATHFINDER.
GOT MY LAST TALKING THERPIES CBT SESSION NEXT WEEK… IT HAS HELPED A LOT… HAVE A SURPORT WORKER FROM RICHMOND FELLOWSHIP AND STARTED TO JIGSAW PUZZLE CLUB AND CRAFT CLUB EACH WEEK. SO STARTING TO SOCIALISE AGAIN…AND HAVE BEEN SIGNED UP TO DO ANIXERTY WORK SHOP IN NOVEMBER. DID NOT HEAR FROM BOGNOR WOODWORK AND CRAFT CLUB DESPITE CONTACTING THEM,
WILL TRY AGAIN AT A LATTER DATE. THE JIGSAW AND CRAFT CLUB ARE IN CHICHESTER WHICH IS A LOT EASIER TO GET TO.
ALSO HAD A SOCIAL SERVICES ASSESSMENT AND BEEN REFERED TO THE
PREVENTION ASSESSMENT TEAM…
WAITING FOR THEM TO GET IN CONTACT . I THINK THATS IT.2024-09-26T23:00:00Z

 Wow, you have come a long way since you joined us last May, and clearly working hard on overcoming your anxiety. I applaud you

You should also get in touch with your local AgeUK to see what they have going on in your area, such as social activities, walking groups, Health & Wellbeing or Strength & Balance classes, etc. It’s for all over 50’s and abilities, no problem bringing your carer along either if need be. Really worth giving it a try for reducing your anxiety by building your confidence :people_hugging:
I look forward to hearing of your continued progress :grinning:

Sounds like you’ve come a long way & good to hear that you’ve found many things to get involved in. They should all help with your anxiety.

Well done on building up your social life after your stroke.
