Am I lazy

Trish - that is a great point. Winter blues.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) often comes up in news and affects people in all walks of life.
A bit of sunshine and /or a change of scenery can do wonders

Hello Janis, I had my haemorrhagic stroke in December 23. No one has mentioned stroke fatigue, which can affect each of us differently. Coming into my 2nd year Iam still getting this and it can affect your motivation and energy levels. Excercises and tasks around the house I manage but I did have expectations which I now acknowledge were unrealistic, but no matter as you know you will get there it just takes a bit longer. So I have watched loads of tv, but didn’t feel lazy as I knew the brain/body had to heal, I still use a stick and have no left arm, but after the plateau stage, I have joined a gym, you get a personal trainer who doesn’t leave your side, have physio and am attempting to learn to walk again. I live alone but advertised for a home help who comes twice a day for 2 x 15min slots
You can apply for carers allowance. We are both in the same boat with an arm each for a paddle, which means we are moving forward.
Keep keeping on

I can totally relate to your situation as mine mirrors it. I had my stroke nearly a year ago. However, WITH INTENSIVE PHYSIOTHERAPY FOCUSSING ON MY LEGS - MY WALKING DID IMPROVE FIRST. I know what you mean - it is demoralising when you don’t see the results but you feel pain. What I try to do is a daily set of exercises but broken down with treats. For example, I’ll do a few exercises, then read a chapter of my book, or watch an episode on Netflix, then do more exercises. It helps when you have a good book to read I also go for short walks and meet up with friends. It doesn’t always work - some days, I JUST DON’T HAVE THE WILLPOWER AND i give up. I know what you mean when you can’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. It feels like your life has gone down the drain. I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll get my life back, go back to work, drive my car, etc. I am very depressed and on the highest dose of anti depressants.

I’m sorry your health has took a slamming with hear attacks and a stroke, you didn’t deserve this being so fit( mind you no one does in any circumstances) you sounded perfectly healthy active and fit, I see lots of videos on forums of stroke survivors hitting the gym, I just find it enough exercise some days to get out of bed! And do a bit of walking with my walker to the kitchen and back. I can understand your thinking
