Hello. All.
Well since my stroke in feb 21 i since discovered thst i had arrythmia. So had the cardioversion that sorted it for about six months but its now back. Did the 24 hr monitoring and they are talking about ablation now.
Anyhows I have never been told what caused my stroke, but discussing with a nurse friend she seems to think it may have been caused by an undetected arrhythmia. I told her that they did an ECG at A&E and it came back normal. My Arrhythmia is the permanent one so its here constantly but there is evidently a temporary one so that could be why it said normal in A&E.
This is the only possible explanation i have had.
But since 2022 been to doctors with my chest aches to be told - old age.
Onwards and upwards - there is potentially an 8 month wait for an ablation so presume the docs think my current meds are good enough.
@Al59 i think the problem with tests in A&E is that they are done fairly quickly & for a short period of time so things like AFib can be missed.
It’s a shame that the cardioversion didn’t last for you & you now have to have ablation. Fingers crossed that will sort it for you.
Best wishes
Ann

Yes I hope so too. The constant Afib episodes take all the energy out of me. Hopefully the ablation will resolve some of that.
