A few hours out in the sunshine this spring Sunday morning

More adventures of Bobbi

After struggling to sort out some computer problems I thought it was time for a break.

It was a lovely warm sunny day and it seemed like a good idea to visit our local park.

I managed to get my scooter into the car, for the first time on my own, something that will give me much more independence.

I took Hilary with me. In town I parked up and got the scooter out of the boot single handed. Very pleased that it went well.

By resting the scooter on the car then pivoting it up and pushing it in I avoid needing to lift the whole weight. Quite easy and quick, no need for a hoist, and it works.

I positioned an old off-cut of carpet to protect the car’s paint work.

I set up the scooter and went with Hilary walking by my side to a seat by the pond in the park. It was quite busy and there were a lot of very frisky water fowl to see. Spring definitely is in the air.

I took a load of pictures.

Eventually it was time to go home. On the way we called at a supermarket for some bits for a picnic lunch when we got back.

What a nice morning !

keep on keepin’ on

Well done Bobbi! I’m still trying to pluck up courage to drive on my own and go to surgery/ meet friends on my own!

Well done Bobbi. Looks lovely. This is what my husband and I are itching to do. Just to get away from the house for a while. Physios say we need more practice in/out of car.

Until you can do that have you considered using wheelchair access taxis for the occasional trip out

I’d love to be back as I was pre-stroke but I am finding that there is still a life for me even if it’s different from what I knew.
I would not be where I am doing what I do if it was not for encouragement, inspiration and support from others.
For this reason I feel the need to share my successes and give a big thank you to those with whom I share my world.

So glad you have worked out a way to get the scooter in / out the car on your own too.

There is a whole world out there waiting for you.

A few hours in the sun will spur you on even more and did the ice cream van tempt you to a 99. Sounds like there’s no stopping you now and little pleasures are to be treasured. Well done Bobbi
