A carer's account

After my wife had a stroke a few years ago I kept notes on what was happening and eventually turned them into an eight-episode account online. It's factual but not heavy - there's often a lighter side to the recovery process - and several people have said that reading it really helped them, whether as victim or carer. We live on the Spanish island of La Gomera, which adds another dimension.

If it can help anyone else I'd be delighted. The web address is https://gomerastroke.blogspot.com

Many thanks for your response. My wife is fine now except that her balance is still unreliable, she needs a stick for safety. But we can live with that!

Thanks for your interest, and we wish you all the best. You'll be fine - a sense of humour always helps!
