Walking

Taking your first step correctly

Who remembers when they tok there first walking steps as before the stroke as opposed to to the hobbling stick gait so many of us are left with.

I’ve not come across any stroke survivors who can remember the transition from hobbling with style to a measured smooth effortless gait enjoyed by the majority of humans Bon the planet. Just asking for a friend :rofl::rofl:

It’s a gradual transition as we gain muscle independence and balance for the whole body (including arm swing)

Thanks for the details im suffering from lack of sensation in my left side my left arm is floppy and my brain doesn’t know it exists, the left leg is in a semi numb state and is use mostly as a plank of wood no knee lift. I’m thinking five years isn’t enough time for neuro recovery and more needs to gonon in my brain to solve sensation and motor operation. Maybe next year will see some more improvement.

The independent muscle movement at a micro level means my leg muscles keep it heavy and my arm hamy dra apart in our journey I barely can hobble to the end of my drive way .

I did walking cobbled hilll to church using the support rail and no stick but I fear I’m not that competent anymore.

Looks like I need more time bit relics my nerves.

ain’t feeling of existence and some pain

No breakthrough, I gather then, Mark.. Your nerves have a way to go. I wonder if you know that our body and nerves are bio-electrical in nature. That’s right, we conduct electricity. Our functions are entirely built around electrical / magnetic fields. Equalizing your electrical potential with that of the Earth is your passport to health (Earthing). The other thing to realize is that home electricity (particularly what is known as ‘dirty electricity’) is quite toxic and detrimental to our health. This is why, today, I just spent 2 hours Earthed in my garden, plus went for a 1 hour walk.

I do remember a time when you walked unaided to a church. You were definitely ahead of me back then; now maybe not. Of course it’s not a race, but I can feel you dissatisfied with progress, which is why I allow myself to suggest an idea, a possible pathway.

Keep going & good luck,
ciao, Roland

ps. I walk unaided around the house. My affected leg has a slower rhythm than my unaffected side. For my walk today I walked 0.6 km without my stick, and finished off with another 0.5 km with stick.

Thanks for the insight Roland info have a way to go and I’m struggling but determined the earthing intel is very interesting and I will attempt some reconnection as soon as the weather permits.
