Turtle splint?

Hi there has anyone heard of a turtle splint . My phsio has suggested one for my weak arm and hand . I can reach out with my weak arm but my wrist and hand go downwards so it’s not functional to hold anything . The splint is heated first then moulded round the arm it can be reheated many times and my wrist and hand cud be put in a neutral position gradually . I’m almost 3 years post stroke so willing to try anything :flushed:any thoughts ?

I’ve never heard of it but it sounds like it might be worth a try. Nothing to lose & hope it works for you.

Does this immobilize your upper arm so you can work your forearm more accurately?

No the splint will only cover my forearm will be half way up between wrist and elbow

it’s a trade name - they are very easy to find on the internet :slight_smile:

& one use is to help with spasticity …
