being a carer is difficult I’ve been on both sides now, I’m the one being cared for…both is very hard. But oh yes it does bring out the emotional side and protective side of us. You are doing well
Fatigue is real it’s different from being tired I find sometimes a sleep does it sometimes just laying down and closing my eyes. I’m almost a year post stroke. Is it getting easier…not yet…
I love the crochet food and characters.lovely hobby

Thankyou to everyone who replied regarding the tiredness/fatigue. I really appreciate it. Today has been a great day. He finally got set up in his wheelchair and this afternoon he went out in it for the first time! We just took him down the street for five minutes. The carer started off then passed control to me! I don’t know who was more nervous. Him or me:joy:. Apart from being put into an ambulance it’s the first time he has been outside since he had his stroke. So proud of him

Paula - I bet he felt good after that outing. It makes a huge difference to get out, feel the sun on your face and the wind/air/breeze.
I remember when we managed to take Mum out for the first time after a good few years stuck in the house and mostly in her room. The expression on her face said it all. Due to her delicate condition, we had to wait until it was nice and warm and had to make sure she had a sun hat etc.
For the first time in a long time, some of her friends in the neighbourhood saw her and were very surprised.
Other times, we just wheel her to the kitchen/diner so she can sit with us instead of being on her own.
I am sure you will be able to do the same and your husband will be a lot happier.
