Sympathetic healing

I am not sure if I have got the right term for this, but for now I will use it as it is the best I can come up with. I am going do a brain dump as is my wont and the subject is

Sympathetic healing

I am trying to understand how it is that someone for whom I am a carer has recovered or survived after a stroke without seemingly any [significant/notable] help from healthcare professions in the form of rehab therapies.

The cared for has and continues to recover and doesn’t seem to suffer the aches and pains to the same extent as other stroke survivors, or perhaps is able to manage/control these aches and pains and so it appears they don’t suffer from them.

It seems this cared for is somehow drawing on energies that are invisible to us, but that exist and that the cared for is able to tap into them.

Does this sound a bit weird, or even crazy?

Try this, I as the carer every now and then “feel” or am aware of certain things that the cared for is experiencing, for example, the cared for has a sensation/pain in the right leg and so do I. There are other examples but one is enough as it illustrates the point I am making.

Is it possible, the cared for is sucking energy from me and other carers, not to the detriment of the others, but enough to help? What if electrical pulses are passed from carer to cared for through touch, from touching foreheads, holding hands etc. and the pulses or other invisible energy waves are healing the cared for?

Why am I even writing this on this forum?
It came about because I was talking to someone on the other side of the world through a device and it’s as if they are here next to me. Also, I can see them in the form of video. These are waves of energy. I don’t understand how it works, but I can definitely talk to someone who is not next to me and it’s just as clear as if they were standing next to me.

Why can’t we heal in that way?
Why can’t the good bits of me that I can spare be taken by someone who needs them?

Don’t worry too much about what you have read. Consider it a fantasy, maybe a from a science function movie. But think about this, how many things that were once considered fiction are now real.

Just something to think about, or not.

Electrical pulses can be transferred person to person, hence static electric shocks. I can’t say whether or not this has contributed to rehabilitation. I know that radio waves pass through the body, from wi-fi, radio, phones, &c. It struck me the other day that I had no palpable knowledge in explaining how a record needle picks up vibrations from grooves in vinyl and broadcasts that as sound and voice. I felt a little ashamed of myself.

You have the gift of healing :folded_hands:t2:. You are not crazy or imagining anything. Healing energy is passing between you and the person you care for. It is a Mutual exchange, there’s nobody sucking energy off from anyone and I think maybe you’re sensing or seeing the entities that are around assisting in the process :folded_hands:t2:

Iagree. It’s all about what one person needs and the other can supply - not a ‘taking’ without permission, but a harmony.

HI ManjiB,

I think Distant/remote Reiki Healing like therapy may be similar to your example/explanation for Sympathetic healing ?

Thank you all.
@Rups , @ScottishMagic , @Dexster and @BHAGYODAY - I am very grateful for the time you have taken to reply to my post. I am very happy that you have help me clarify what I was feeling and whilst I know Mum is not a leech and would never suck anything from anyone, nor does she take without permission, I was unable to come up with the right words.

But now, it is all clear and it helps explain how Mum has recovered as she has. She is living in harmony with the environment and her surroundings and that we are mutually exchanging the good and the bad. I wondered if it is possible to take away the pain from someone and now I know
or have had confirmation of what I have always believed but not understood the mechanics of, and yes it is possible to take away the pain from someone.

I am so very happy right now

Rupert - don’t be so hard on yourself. You know as well as I do that we won’t always have the answers to all the questions at hand at all the time, though we can often work them out.

There is no shame in it and you do not need to be ashamed of yourself. What would Annie say?

Hello as a paid / professional carer I would call this empathetic @ManjiB because you feel the pain though maybe not fully physically but it still hurts. You may well get associated empathy pains which shows how invested you are as a carer.

Understandably you feel it more as you have that emotional investment too that make physical touch such a great healer, more than that you do an amazing job from the bottom of your heart and with all your might- not everyone can. For me that is the greatest anyone can do- I would rant about how many successive governments have failed carers but that’s another day as what you do is so special.

This synchronization is very real
I just want to draw your attention to mirror neurons ( you start yawning … the next person mirrors you )

  • Mirror Neurons & Empathetic Pain: You feeling pain in your leg when they do has a neuroscientific basis. Our brains contain mirror neuron systems that activate both when we perform an action and when we see someone else perform it. In highly empathetic bonds (carer/cared-for, parent/child, close partners), this system can extend to somatosensation —literally feeling another’s physical state. This isn’t supernatural; it’s an extreme form of the neural wiring that allows us to understand and connect with others.

I once thought humans were the only species who had mirror neurons but there are other species that have forms of them too. Mukbang, I believe is, partly, responsible for my youngest son’s voracious appetite and desire to be a chef. His mirror neurons are on fire every time he watches it.
