Oh no. Hope youre not too sore from your fall. Well done on getting ypurself up again. Try not to let it knock your confidence. Falls can happen to anyone.
@mrfrederickson , nice plants. What are you growing?
@mrfrederickson , don’t beat yourself up. Everyone has an off day. I’ve had a few of those, my pride was more hurt than physical pain.
Thanks mrs5k
We are growing turnips , kale, beetroot and tomatoes plus potatoes and wil add garlic and onions today
@mrfrederickson , hey hey, that is what I call a powerplant. A Daimler as well, great power and torque. Also, they run very smoothly. As you said, I bet it gave most sports cars and sports bike something to worry about. I love V12s. Especially some from Aston Martin, in the DB9. As I said, love the picture. ![]()
Yep from a Daimler double six and restored to perfect condition by yours truly before putting a manual box from a 4.2 jag on incomplete with overdrive.
In effect a very potent e type with a cobra body and fixings to make the kit , four years of hard work to get it on the road ![]()
@mrfrederickson , cool picture of the engine. The Jaguar gearbox, is it from the 4.2 E-type?
Effectively speaking yes as the box is the same box between the 3.8 type and the 4.2jaguar saloon.
I topped the car out at 153mph one day on the M40!
Never again the fastest I can do is 4mph![]()

@mrfrederickson , shame. I bet you miss the thrill of driving fast. My experience is a couple of track days. A birthday gift from a friend years ago. Good craic. 4mph for your scooter…probably for the best. ![]()
Yes speeding is no longer any fun nor is motoring as I at least had the best era to have been driving in In fact the world was a more fun place in my twenties and thirties too restricted and boring now, but as the western world is dying out ill be glad to go when my time comes and leave it to the rest to enjoy ![]()
@mrfrederickson , that’s true. A lot of cars out now just look boring and stale. I always get a thrill from the deep, bass notes of a V8 to the howl of a V12, the sounds of turbochargers spooling up and the whine of a supercharger. I’m not against electric cars and hybrids but, like you said, they are boring.
Totally on your page and one American pop artist sung a song about being run over by an electric car and how obscene he felt as he never heard it “sea sick Steve”
@mrfrederickson ,Seasick Steve, I like him. Cool songs he writes. My favourite is “I started out with nothing and I’ve still got most of it left”. What a title.
Say that title out loud after several Guinness’. ![]()
Avery apt title and if recovery takes until my eighties then bi will have started with nothing and come full cycle back to immobility in old age but seen the stroke out
@mrfrederickson , Ha, very erudite. Well put. ![]()
I’m praying for a gap between enough of a recovery and building my strength up to cope with the banging process.
For now no wirk my right arm and legs as best as possible while maintaining my step count and ensuring I have not put on any extra weight.
Year on year I have lost 4kg so going to plan
@mrfrederickson , do you feel any discomfort in you right arm and leg? As for weight loss, I’m aiming to lose a few lbs. each month. I’m in my 40s now (as are my mates). Won’t be easy though.
Hi Johnny my stroke affected my left side the right is in good condition and very strong thankfully
The left leg holds my weight and is swung forward but no knee flexing and bad drop foot.
I get about with great discomfort inspite of the pain otherwise I’d be bed ridden or chair bound
@mrfrederickson , I mainly have similar trouble but with my right knee. Injured it many many years ago during a games lesson at school. A bad tackle on me during football. Exercise most days is difficult. I can’t exercise like I used to. When the knee pain starts, like you I’m in real trouble. Somedays, I end up bedridden. Getting moving again is tricky afterwards. I feel your pain on that score. I know you’ve got it worse than me.
