Silent Stroke

Following a branch arterial occlusion in my eye after a series of tests and scans including an MRI i have been diagnosed as having two separate strokes, not a TIA, which I know nothing about, no symptoms and no evident effects. All very strange and scary. The stroke team have identified calcified plaque in my right carotid and have agreed, yes agreed, to offer a Carotid endarterectomy at St Thomas’s hospital and it will be on Tuesday next. Has anyone experienced similar and undergone such a procedure?

Good luck for your op. I am sure it’ll be a relief when you come out the other side of it.
