I am not sure what you mean by links from e-mail, but if you want to share a web page you can copy and paste the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) aka address of webpage.
By clicking on the chain
icon in the toolbar, an insert link window will pop up.
Apologies, I struggle with technology- especially computers and I worded this wrong.
I am meaning that I want to share one of my emails.
it isnāt a link as such, just a piece of writing that I did last week and I would like to share with others.
It sounds like you simply want to display some text. If that is so try to copy the data and then paste it where you want it to go:
You very likely can copy and paste the material you want to display.
Do you know how to select an area, say a piece of text, on your device?
This is done by dragging across what you want to select.
If you do this successfully it will be highlighted.
When you have it selected on your keyboard press control + c This will copy the area selected.
Move to the area where you want the material to appear and press control + v This will paste the material where you want it to go.
Unfortunately describing this operation makes it sound much harder to do than it actually is.
If you can perform a copy and paste you should be able to use it to put text from one area into a post on the forum.
There area number of organisation who provide beginner lessons for computer use.
It might be worth looking around for something available close to you.
I hope you will begin to gain confidence using your device.
It is worth the effort and can open up all sorts of possibilities.
As @Bobbi has said it sounds harder in writing than it actually is. And a slightly different process depending on the device you are using too.
From my android phone itās just a matter of double tap or press and hold over a word in the text you want to copy.
From there, you drag the blue blob, on the left of the word, to the start of the text you are copying. And the blue blob on the right of it can be dragged to the end of the text.
Then you select copy from the little menu bar above the text. To paste you have you just have to select the text from the ticker-tape bar where your spell checker words appear at the top of the online keyboard.
These instructions were copy and pasted from a website on the Internet.
You put your left arm in, your left arm out
In, out, in, out, you shake it all about
You do the Hokey Cokey and you turn around
Thatās what itās all about.
Whoa-o the Hokey Cokey
Whoa-o the Hokey Cokey
Whoa-o the Hokey Cokey
Knees bent, arms stretched
Rah! Rah! Rah!
You put your right arm in, your right arm out
In, out, in, out, you shake it all about
You do the Hokey Cokey and you turn around
Thatās what itās all about.
Whoa-o the Hokey Cokey
Whoa-o the Hokey Cokey
Whoa-o the Hokey Cokey
Knees bent, arms stretched
Rah! Rah! Rah!
You put your left leg in, your left leg out
In, out, in, out, you shake it all about
You do the Hokey Cokey and you turn around
Thatās what itās all about.
Donāt take me too seriously.
It can be useful and fun.
Iām doing a lot more posting replies from my phone. All part of retraining my brain, particularly with multitasking. But it really does take some doing. But I certainly wonāt try that between social media site because Iām bound to make a reply in the wrong platform.
And copying and pasting takes more concentration on the mobile, if Iām distracted at all during the process I just have to abandon and start again. And to think I used to be able to do all this kind of thing virtually blindfold before the stroke. The kids used to be fascinated how I could work a computer without looking at the keys or screen, Iād be watching telly instead
Itās that old ādonāt waste energy mourning or attempting to recover what is long gone. Take a look round at what you have and busy yourself with that.ā
I do think it is worth talking about it though. It can help you find a perspective, make choices and see possibilities.
You have given me much useful advice. The ability to do that and to desire to do that is an asset. Sharing it makes the world a better place. So thank you.
Thanks so much for your help and instructions.
I was originally logging on here on an older phone but now saying my device it isnāt supported here so am using a laptop computer.
I will give copying and pasting a try, I imagine once I learn the skills and gain confidence, It will be a lot easier for me to use.
The singer was Martin Kershaw, who was chosen because he sounded like Dury. Stiff Records wanted a last chance to cash in on Dury after he moved to Polydor and this was the result. Apparently Kershaw also played guitar on Kung Fu Fighting.
I wish my head was full of useful information instead of stuff like this.
