Recent Check up

Hello and as way of update…

on 20th Aug had trip to Stroke check up.

The specialist was helpful but not had all answer’s I asked

I manage to be allowed to see pic of brain and took photos…

they can be funny about having pic of your brain but helps me understand what’s happening…

Told have recovered…brain shows scar tissue… work was told to wait and maybe not before end of year…

was concerned that maybe blocked arteries would have caused the stroke as they cant give a reason…asked if I was under stress? when have stress not been in my world at times? jeeeeeeeezzzzzeeeeeess !!!

So!!! made a point! can I now have a Guinness??? Yeap! :+1: But! just one a week :-1: :-1: :-1: Awwwwww well will be a test as 0 Alcohol Guinness compared to proper Black Gold!!! :+1: :+1: :+1: Roll on Sunday! 1st in 4 months “H” Out!

Guinnless is deffo good as are many others - all wines are thoroughly crap though

I think it’s quite common for consultants not to be able to answer all our questions and unfortunately sometimes a cause for our stroke cannot be found. Stress can be a stroke cause though.

Good news re the beer :grin: i’m told guinness zero is good. As a non drinker i couldn’t possibly say. Enjoy it though. I’m sure it’ll go down a treat after all this time.

Ahhhhhh! not heavy drinker only 2 Guinness on Sunday …when allowed! Had stroke and suddenly its a sin!! dont have a drink!!! Ha! Guinness has One of the more unusual facts is that it used to be given to people after they’d given blood, due to the belief it would help replenish their iron stores. Incredibly, this was happening as recently as 2010!

The truth is that Guinness contains around 0.3mg of iron per pint, which isn’t significant enough to be of any health benefit, whether you’ve just donated blood or not. Men need 8.7mg per day, while women need 14.8mg.

The yeast in Guinness (and indeed any beer) contains vitamin B12, which performs many vital functions including creating red blood cells, which carry oxygen around your body and remove carbon dioxide. One tablespoon of yeast will provide an adult with their full day’s supply of vitamin B12… so “Thats all Folks”…I’ll save another talk about another Ive missed for years… Chinese Take away!!! I hear one calling me… “H” Out!
