Progress

I think this is the key is it not?
We must each of us find what works for us and this is because we are all different and we have different drivers and ambitions.
In life, how do we end up from growing up, going to school, possibly further education, getting a job, getting married etc. etc.
Whilst there are similarities we do end up being different. We try to find what works for us, what we like doing and hopefully sooner of later we get a chance to do this. The process is the same after having a stroke, at least that’s how I see it.

When I was growing up, I never wanted to be a doctor or a lawyer or a civil engineer, but perhaps my parents might have had that ambition for me and tried to steer me in that direction. I tried it, I went to school, into further education but at the end of it I decided it was not for me and so I sought out what works for me and redirected my energies into something I was passionate about and sure enough it all worked out.

I haven’t had a stroke, but I’d like to think I would have the same approach if I was to find myself in that situation and I know many on this forum have done this.

Fully agree with your comments, just wish I had the same ability to put thoughts into words, thanks for the clarification to my abrupt wording.
