Process to driving again

Thanks, but not expecting the insurance not to take advantage and add some to my premium,

You might be surprised
I recall another member posted that the insurance company took note but did not increase the premium.
I always found it worth shopping around at renewal time to make sure you got the best deal. Not sure this still works today, but in the old days I always got a better deal either by moving or staying and asking them to match or better.

I hope they don’t increase my premium, but I always shop around so we will see. And my insurance expires in September, so just in time

I phoned my insurance company & was basically told as long as DVLA said I coikd drive they didn’t want to know. I still told them though so it couldn’t be used against me later

I was told and read I could not drive for at least a month and needed to be assessed by my GP. I was fortunate to get an appointment after about three months following my stroke and cleared to drive. You do need to notify your insurance company and my insurance offered to pay for four free lessons to help get back safely on the road. Don’t be in too much of rush - better to be safe than risk it

I have been cleared to drive. 100% on the field of vision tests with each eye separately. I phoned DVLA to double check as I still have difficulty reading things close up but pass the number plate test easily with binocular vision.
DVLA are sending a letter to confirm that they don’t need to take any action.
I’ve let the insurance company know by ticking a box on their online form and paying for the privilege even though my premium is unaffected. A small price to pay for freedom and certainty.
