Hello @Paul - Nice to meet you and pleased you have joined this forum.

The forum has a diverse membership and whilst there are commonalities amongst the members, there are also differences. It is hoped you will find you are looking for, a style or personality that you can relate to.

From the experience of having been on this forum for some time, I feel it doesn’t matter that much how old you are, what type of stroke you’ve had or any other common themes people look for. I have noticed on many occasions lots of different members join in the conversations and offer suggestions or share their experiences and in the majority of cases this works very well. We do get some occasions when a member might feel annoyed when people like me chip in when they don’t meet the “spec” i.e. in your example someone around age 40, but I personally feel you are doing yourself a disservice if you do this as often lots of valuable help can be offered from totally unexpected sources and then you find you have many other things in common and really as in this example age is nothing more than a number. It’s the experiences of how you survived the stroke, what help you received/did not receive, what worked for you/didn’t work for you etc.

Of course, we are all individuals and we may or may not connect with certain other individuals - that is human nature and we all have our preferred personality types who we tend to bond with.

All I am saying is, try not to be too specific in your search criteria when seeking help. Many a senior has been helped by children because they were able to bond for whatever reason.

Just some thoughts which may or may not help you - ultimately it’s your choice

I wish you all the best.
