I had an ischaemic stroke in October last year. Recovering really well. Just started driving again. And due to return to work on extended phased return in April.
With that in mind I’ve been testing my endurance to see what I’m capable of , and found that if I go too far I will get payback , like others have mentioned. Today ( and once last month) I went out before I was ready as someone moved the time forward. So I’ve learned a new thing - if I’ve got up at a certain time because I’ve planned to go out at noon, then I won’t be changing that going out time to 10 am as I’ll get payback. I need to prioritise a gentle start to my day and make sure I’ve had breakfast, fluids, and all my morning meds. Only then will I go out. This is what I’ve learned just this morning do I thought I’d share with y’all.
Thanks for ongoing support everyone.

@Seddso sounds like you’re doing well and returning to work will be a big milestone for you. I hope it goes well. I remember those days just before I returned to work not really knowing what to expect. It was harder than I expected but I got through it as I am sure you will. Remember to take plenty of breaks and ease yourself back in gently.
In relation to stretching yourself too far you are right there is usually a payback. You may find that alters in time but priorising what you need to do to get you through the day is essential.
Best wishes
