I’m so slow, anyone else?

Heck, I still remember being terrified the first time I was left alone with our first new newborn

First times are always the scariest, you have to face the fear in order to conquer it.
If you just want to test out your speed of walking first, just try taking quick step beside your bed for safety’s sake. At least you’ll have a soft landing and it might help build your confidence and encourage you to explore and expand on that.

Hello Emerald Eyes, i hate to be a pain to yourself but would you please let me know again the links that you already gave me for, the lady who does the foot drop exercises and the rest of the links you sent to me. I deleted your text message by a stupid mistake. I’m so sorry to inconvenience you in this way as i know your time and energy is incredibly important to you, and for that, i really would like to apologise sincerely. You are a wonderful and lovely person and it is such a pleasure for you to answer me when i first joined the group, and everyone whe texted a message to me, it was truly amazing and wonderful of you all. Thankyou so very much but especially you Emerald Eyes.

I think this is what you are looking for Winnie. And although you may have deleted a notification from your phone but you haven’t actually deleted anything from the post you created on the forum. So all the conversation with everyone is still on there, its just a matter of scrolling back up from the bottom, which is the last reply from anyone. In this instance the last will be me…until you reply :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

And I’m more than to happen to help, if it’s important to you then it’s worth my time :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I had a consultation with a Neuro Physio this morning, it was very helpful, I realise I concentrate on what is wrong and what I can’t do, she made me realise what is better and that it’s still early days at 7 months, it’s easy to think you’re not getting anywhere quick but in fact baby steps are achieving bit by bit….its so hard when lovely friends and family ask if your any better, they really want to hear a yes and saying no is horrid..
Anyway she gave me some new balance exercises and more resensitising suggestions.. she was also helpful suggesting I go for little walks on my own, I drove last week for the first time and although the driving the car was ok, brilliant in fact I was very nervous walking on my own and that “what would happen if” hasn’t gone away and is scary too…for 7 months I’ve always had someone with me.

Sounds like you had a positive appointment. I think we are all guilty at times of concentrating on what we can’t do rather than what we can. I kept a diary so.I can look back & see how far I have come. We often forget that.

The “what would happen if” is a difficult one to move forward from but each time you try something yourself & it goes well those “what if” moments should reduce. After all whether we’ve had a stroke or not those “what if” moments could still happen but we just don’t think about them.

Best wishes
