I’m now not on gabapentine

After nearly a month of gradual reductions in my dose I’m not using gabapentine anymore and noticed no changes in pain levels.
So in my circumstances the drug was not helping me much and its side effects have been more troubling than the additional pain I’ve endured.

I use paracetamol for all other pain relief and it seems to be giving me more of a balanced existence.

Having recently experienced over-medication for my blood pressure, with really alarming side effects, I’m all in favour of reducing meds whenever it’s safe to do so. Congratulations on cutting out the gabapentin, and three cheers for a more balanced existence!

I agree with you both about the uncertainty of it all.

I think survival rate has improved over the years.

Recovery from stroke is very varied in quality and I believe that not much is known about what is best treatment for good outcome.

Certainly more resources are aimed at those younger so figures look better for them.

At this point being able to live a meaningful life is my first aim. Finding ways to do this what I explore.

I think there is reason to be optimistic on all fronts but where we are going and where we will end up is still a mystery to me.

Yes Bobbi the micro recovery of the brain through neuro plasticity is in monitored and not understood by the medical community.
T
Hat program the super agers is most revealing and the reconnecting of once dead pathways in the brain is fascinating

This could help us all

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

On the next plateau, have a rest. Take a break.

Then go looking for more hills and mountains to climb.

It is worth it, if only for the view.

Yes absolutely and last night I was still pushing the boundaries and went to a squeez concert

Thoroughly recommend the venue at the piece hall Halifax fully catered for and sat with new friends on a special platform for disabled people to view the concert
