Today I sent for cataract pre-assessment at our local hospital. I had to have all the usual measuring etc.,which with all the sitting around waiting took one and a half hours. But first of all the nurse took my BP which was 2009/108! Absolutely no surprise there as I have “white coat hypertension” ! She then have me a letter for my GP.So that they can verify my “white coat status.Anyway I then saw,the consultant who have me a very full explanation of the surgery and the risks. He then have me a slip of paper to hand to the receptionist who asked if I could come on the 26th November.I, said yes! So apart from my BPit was in and out in an hour and a half! With an appointment for surgery in one month!
woohoo, that is good news:partying_face: I know of so many who’ve had the procedure and wished they’d had it done sooner, its so quick and easy. Hope all goes well for you too ![]()

That’s service for you
. I’ve recently had a routine eye test and have early signs of cataracts. Look forward to hearing how you get on. I know a few people who have had that operation and wished they had it done earlier.
Hope it goes well for you.
Regards Sue
Yay. Not long to wait at all. My mum had her cataracts done and it has made a massive difference for her.
Not a bad service at all by the sounds of it.
Look forward to hearing how you get on…
That is wonderful and indeed something worth celebrating.
Wishing you all the best for surgery in a month’s time ![]()
Thank you all.for your good wishes! Iwill. give you updates once I have the surgery!
No wonder you’ve got white coat syndrome if you had to wait for an hour and ½! Have you thought of asking for your BP to be measured as soon as you arrive? So your adrenalin and cortisol levels haven’t increased yet?
