Hello, I'm new to the group - My Story

Yes, that side of the brain seems at the root of at lot of my worrying full stop. Another useful read is the Book of Overthinking by Gwendoline Smith.

Hello David, I’m 88 and had my stroke 2 years ago. I’m a hypnotherapist with 45 years experience. I’ve just re-read all your posts. No child was born with anxiety. It has been learned from parents or as a result of trauma. It can be unlearned by accessing that part of the brain that runs the programme using hypnotherapy. It’s really good that you are reading books on the subject. When clients say “something made me…” I ask them “Who’s thinking in your head?” It helps them realise they are responsible for their thoughts, which have an immediate and direct effect on their bodies.
Recommended books are: The Biology of Belief by Bruce H. Lipton and The Genie in your Genes by Dawson Church. IMHO two of the most empowering books for anyone.

Keep your chin up! My severe stroke 5 years ago took away not only my driving licence but my pilot’s licence as well: a real double-whammy ! I am still relearning to walk again. but at least I can speak again. My sense of humour has kept me going. But no-one has been able to help or advise on my erectile dysfunction, which is my bigge.

Bobst disappointment
