Does anyone who has had a Cerebeller right stroke get head painat the back which is where the stroke occurred? I read that it’s not linked as tge Cerebeller has no psinfecepters and doesn’t give pain but it seems a coincidence x
I didn’t have a cerebellar stroke but I did get a lot of head pain initially. Have you over done things maybe? That could contribute. Over doing it might be something small in the early recovery stages…I was surprised by how little was too much in the 1st 6 - 12 months.
Hi, maybe I overdo things as it’s always worse at night around 8 o’clock when I am tired! I try to be as normal as I can when doing things but that’s prob adding to it. X
Magnesium Glycinate might help, although I’ve not heard of anyone else on here for whom it helped with other than myself. I know it can help with migraines, which is why I decided to try it in the first place, and it does work for me. My head pain is at the top of the skull and is about the size of a skull cap and is continual. And the pain would increase when overly tired, anxious or stressed.
The few times I’ve come off them, it came back. I know it’s still there because there is a pressure to it, and that doesn’t go away with the MG, only the pain of it. So now I take 2 MG a day, one morning and one evening and I’ll stay on them for life if I have to And I’ve been taking them for nearly two years now. I know the pain is still there because I can still feel a pressure from it. So when I’m overly tired, anxious or stressed the pressure increases slightly. And that’s what tells me I’d be in pain if stopped taking the Magnesium Glycinate.
I’ve had this head pain the 4yrs of my stroke history. It has been thoroughly investigated, but the hospital have not found any other reason for it, other than it’s a side effect from my stroke that I’ll have live with.
I ran out of the MG once so I picked up an own brand of regular magnesium from Morrisons one day. Unfortunately that didn’t even touch the pain. That’s when I realised there is a difference between Magnesium and Magnesium Glycinate!

Hi Lorraine,
Thanks for that information it sounds as if it really helps you.
The reason I haven’t taken any form of Magnesium is because I read articles that said not to take if your on blood pressure tablets!
Maybe I will check with my GP and if ok I will definitely try them
