Have remembered the third thing, I was unable to even think about sharp pointed things like needles, barbed wire, thorn bushes and the obvious thing they brought like blood. To become a member of the fishing guides organization I had to attend a first aid series of lectures to get a first aid certificate. I used to hate this, the lecturer would talk about blood and my gore would rise and make me feel sick.
Now, after the stroke that fear of needles and blood has left me and I can actually watch people sticking needles into me to get blood samples!
Whilst there are no guarantees in life and I don’t believe there is a sure-fire way of preventing strokes, the fact you have been able to identify a genetic condition that has been treated should at least tilt the balance in favour of your daughters.
I’m so pleased for you but my eyes have got significantly worse and I am collecting my new specs this morning. The optomotrist said it will take my eyes 2 weeks to get used to the new prescription so there’s been quite a deteriorationboth in both distance and reading But if that’s all I have to complain about after a major stroke I count myself fortunate. Long may your improvement last Wolfie
Now that, I can relate to Although having babies had already started that ball rolling, having the stroke just brought it on further, to the point I don’t think twice about joining anything new or meeting new people. It’s finding time to stay at home to do some housework is my problem now This stroke has given me a sense of freedom I never had before. Even despite it’s restrictions.
Whenever I have something specific to say or quote on here, I tend to write them down first then build the rest of the post around them. That’s because of the nature of my aphasia, as well memory.
I slep muh better than i did before. i’ now ver rare for me to wake at 3.00a.m an not be ableel toget back to sleep.i get a good seven or eight hours sleep these days.
That’s good to know.
Quality sleep is a big part of recovering from stroke.
If you’re getting seven or eight hours then you’re doing well.
You may also want to try to get cat naps or power naps during the day
