In the western part of the world when we think of HOLIDAYS, we think of the “usual” ones, but all ovr the world people are celebrating very “unusual” ones (to us). Here are a few.
Holi in India people celebrate the triumph of good over evil in the Festival of Colors.
Songkran is celebrated in Thailand as their “New year” They have a massive countrywide water fight that symbolizes washing away the misfortunes of the past year.
In Oaxaca, Mexico every December 23rd they host Night of the Radishes where competitors carve scenes out of radishes. This tradition dates back to their colonial times.

Nature dazzle us with so many wonderful COLOURS that we are often left in awe.

ONE of the best things to do is to spend time with family or friends. It is very uplifting.

It’ s true that having a family is a wonderful blessing, and havig FRIENDS to share things with can add so much. A good friend is often an unexpected pleasure.

Some of those are quite beautiful too.
It is very sunny today but it normally ONLY lasts a shortwhile here in the UK so we have to make the most of it.

There’s an expression “What a difference a DAY makes.” It is so true that everything looks different when the sun comes up and night is replaced with DAY.

I do puzzles every day. My dining room table is our Permanent Puzzle Place. I don’t knit, but do read and crochet, making hats for the homeless, which I collect around November and donate–when the weather turns cold.
There a song that goes “One is the loneliest number in the world”.
One friend can make all the difference

I have a puzzle permanently on the go too. I use our lounge coffee table so no room for coffee on it
Being on your own can be LONELY but you can also be lonely when many people are around.

Talking of unusual hair, some of our foochy fans might remember, in the 1990s there was a player called Jason Lee who played for Nottingham Forest who had “a pineapple on his head”. You can look him up on the internet.
David Baddiel and Frank Skinner ridiculed him on their Fantasy Football TV program and in 2022 Baddiel finally apologise.
The Apology: In late 2022, after decades of enduring the racist and belittling jokes, Lee received a public and personal apology from David Baddiel for the way he was treated.
