There are also some INVENTIONS that we found out we could do without. They were either impractical, unappealing, too expensive, dangerous or unmarketable.
The Boatcar
**Cinerama ** was the predecessor to the modern-day IMAX screens, but it was a whole lot more complicated. To project the movie, it required three, perfectly synchronized projectors that are all aligned with each other and 3 skilled projectionists.
The Readamatic Patented in 1966, the Readamatic was the solution to help school children, or even adults, read faster. A mechanical plate would slide down the page, letting you know where to read to keep a certain pace.

The Segway was supposed to change the way we navigated cities. Unveiled in 2001, it was billed as the next big thing in personal transportation, an eco-friendly alternative to cars.
Google GlassBack in 2013, Google introduced Glass, a wearable, voice-activated pair of glasses that let you access the web, take photos, and even get directions.
Now that hairdryer is something else. I might give buying one a miss. 
Some people like to do hair raising & DANGEROUS activities. Me I prefer a quieter life.

A HAIR-RAISING event is something that alarms, astonishes or frightens. In any case, the reaction is universal.

Most of us when we think about a person going to WORK, think about someone going to an office, a restaurant, a hospital, a store, etc., but some people put their lives on the line every time they go to work.
Eeeeek I think I’ll give those jobs a miss 
my office job is much more appealing
It’s always nice when someone invites you to go for a meal particularly if they let you chose the RESTAURANT too. My first choice is a curry house but there are many fine choices out there.

People have HAIR in all different styles some tame and sedate others completely wild.
