England come from behind to beat Norway and reach World Cup semi-final
Fast asleep I was awakened by an explosion.
I nearly jumped out of my skin and did actually jump out of bed.
It was a quarter past midnight and apparently England had taken the lead against Norway.
I stayed up and 30 minutes later it seemed England had hung on to its lead and had won the match.
How did I know?
Our local very excited football fan sent volleys of rockets up in the air while at the same time letting off another series of very loud bangs.
Calm has returned to our usually quiet little village.
I’m sure the footy fan is preparing all sorts of fireworks for the next stage of the contest.
Totally agree. But has children did we not go to bonfires and look at the fireworks going off. Ok not loud ones like now. But they did bang. And did we think of the animals or people in bed. Guess not.
But I would also like to say WELL DONE ENGLAND. Football maybe not everyone’s thing. It’s not mine. But I’m not going to moan that I could hear the house two down who were outside cheering them on. Good for them.
Stop moaning. You expect others to like what you like to do.
Well done to England. I didn’t stay up to watch it all. Don’t think there were any fireworks here but I find things like that make me jump more since my stroke.
