Feeling a bit chipper!

Just got back home after a little trip into our local town. At present we are being ‘regenerated’ which is another word for digging up every other road, and sticking diversions anywhere you fancy. Parking is a nightmare and as for disabled spaces…forget it. So I went in on the bus. So what, you might say? Our bus stop is at least a mile away from my house. I cheated and drove to the bus stop, into a small car park which had an empty space. Yippee. The bus journey was uneventful, but once in town I had no idea where the return bus stop was. However, I ended up in the bus station which is a short walk from town centre. Had a lovely walk round, but sad to see how many boarded up shops we have now. I spotted a temporary bus stop, only having to wait for about 5mins. Nice journey home on the bus, with a young chap chatting me up all the way. What a treat, even though he was only about four years old. Told me he’d been to see his grandad and he’d eaten all the biscuits. As I got off he asked me if he would see me again. Best chat up line I’ve had for ages. I told him that I’d be delighted. And reader, I really enjoyed my first solo trip on a bus for nearly two years, I will do it again. Best wishes Norma

Hi @Norma751

Thanks for sharing this, it’s wonderful to hear you made it into town and had such a positive experience, especially with that lovely moment on the bus. It sounds like the trip came with its challenges, but you handled it well!

Hope your next outing feels a little easier
