Hi everyone. My first day on the forum.
I had a stroke 6 months ago which affected my right leg and foot. I made good recovery through physio and determination. The biggest battle has been fatigue.
Last week Flu came along. It wiped out my right leg again and I am back to square one. I hope that with physio my recovery will be faster.
Any advice welcome. Many thanks, Ian.
Hi @Ian37 and welcome to the community. Sorry you’ve had a stroke.
A lot of people say if they get poorly their stroke affects become worse. Many say you bounce back a bit quicker than your initial progress took so fingers crossed you find that’s the case too.
Fatigue needs to be managed. Find an activity level you can manage and stick to it for a bit before trying to increase your activity level further. You can always drop back a level if you find the increase too much. I use a diary to help identify my fatigue triggers which may not occur until a couple of days after the event. Get plenty of rest too. Your brain needs it to help it recover.
Best wishes
Ann
