Michael Johnson I think I also heard on the news yesterday that Jessie J (who was announcing that she has breast cancer) had a stroke as a teenager. ---

Keep Yourself Alive btw is a brilliant song and worth looking up. @Mrs5K, I believe the newsreader you are thinking of is none other than Rageh Omaar nicknamed “The Scud Stud” whilst working for the BBC and reporting on the Iraq war. ---

Frankie Muniz was 26 when had his mini-stroke Kirk Douglas was 79 when he had his severe stroke in 1996 Kirk Douglas continued to act until 2008 in small roles despite the impact of the stroke. Kirk Douglas lived to a ripe old age of 103 (that is 24 years post stroke) - his most famous role? I’ll go for Spartacus. “Funny” thing stroke !! ---

Just jumping on here to add Miss J Alexander, a judge and catwalk coach on America’s Next Top Model for almost 10 years. The person who taught models to walk, now can’t walk as a result of their stroke. They had their stroke in 2022 but it’s just been announced on the new Netflix documentary about the show. ---

Kid Cudi (rapper) had one due to drug abuse - his speech was impacted but seems to be back now hailey bieber had a TIA and the PFO procedure is often referred to as the Hailey Bieber procedure when talking to young people, as she did a lot to raise awareness at the time ---

I just had this song turn up on my YouTube recommendations and it brings back memories from my childhood days. I didn’t know this, but the lovely Susan Carr had a stroke in 2012. **Susan suffered from a brain hemorrhage in 2012 and a stroke later, prompting her retirement from Middle of the Road.** **She later rejoined after her recovery in 2016**. Here is her singing the big hit of the time. This song has a great feel good factor for me. In doing some research, I discovered she is Scottish.
