I just wanted to give you all an update on a post I made back in August regarding depression.
For a number of reasons I had not been looking forward to this year for a very long time. I had been stewing on it since January and basically got Myself in a right mess, so much so that my doctor made the depression diagnoses.
I asked the group for advice and sure enough you didn’t let me down. I tried therapy which in my case didn’t work so then decided to try medication.
I can now happily say that I am in a much better place and back to my old outgoing, glass is half full, cheerful self.
Having had my stroke back in 2018 I thought I was over the worse and wasnt expecting such a massive dip in my health, this worry only made matters even worse.
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all of you for your comments and advice, it was greatly appreciated.
I for one will be glad when that clock ticks past midnight later this week and 2026 is here.
Wishing you all and your families a happy, healthy New Year.
Hi @Binty so happy you are finally turning that corner You tried all the other options but clearly medication was the right one for you. If its doing the job don’t knock it. Depression is a serious matter and I am so glad you got to see your doctor about it before it got any worse. So cheers to a bright New Year for in 2026
@Binty thanks for sharing an update and it is pleasing to hear that you are feeling more like your old self again. It sounds like you explored many avenues before trying the medication but if the medication is helping then it is right for you.
For completely different reasons I too I’m looking forward to 2026 as 2025 has been very difficult.
Sometimes one has to just knock these things on the head and if a med can do it, then so be it. Glad you’ve put the black dog back in its kennel and are experiencing a better quality of day.
