Is this the Alpha Male thing?
Maybe I am lucky - I never had issues with Alpha Male thing and am quite happy being Omega Male. Equal opportunities etc. means the Alpha Male does not necessarily have to be the main bread winner. And in any case, when something happens that is beyond your control, it is natural for your partner to take on more responsibility, after all, isn’t that what you would do?
Guiltiness. What is that all about?
It’s been a while now and I have forgotten the details, but there was something about this emotion and maybe it was unique to mankind, but then it was discovered in other species?

Not entirely a male alpha things (which is imposed by society)
It’s about sharing workload which I’ve always done.
Obviously post stroke it’s not possible
I just wanted to spoil my wife for life when I married her

Sorry I’m a bit late to this but most local councils though my experiences are Scottish based offer discretionary payments/ reductions in charges. Not sure if Bristol will aplly this but worth finding out this is usually achieved with some support via DWP information which the council will ask for copies of benefit/ PIP/ ADP payments and earnings even though they have access anyway will insist on hard copies.
Not sure if this entirely helps.

Hi Pando,
I would recommend Citizens Advise.
They deal with this and other aspects every day. I have used them and would use them again.
At least you would know one way or the other.
