Hello @smellypup and welcome to this forum.
Sounds like you’re having great success with the CBD gummies. CBD has lots of benefits, one of the best being that it’s neuro protective so it’s good for helping with neurological problems. When I’m using it consistently, it stops muscle spasms. I stopped using it for a while and the spasms have come back so I’m back on it again. My blood pressure seems to have improved a lot as well but that could be because of other things I’ve been doing. For months now I’ve been kicking off the day with a smoothie using 250mls raw kefir with fresh fruit added plus 2tblsp each of chia powder, milled flaxseed and hemp seed. Plus I supplement with turmeric and eat an ounce or so of pumpkin seeds every day. Been supplementing with Vit D and K2 as well because Vit D helps regulate BP and most of us in the UK are deficient due to lack of sunshine. I’ve stopped using now the sun is out but will get levels checked before autumn.
The other benefit I get from CBD, when used regularly, is mood elevation. It definitely helps with feeling more positive. I can’t say it’s helped with uncomfortable sensory changes but it does help with how I cope with them.
Anyway. All the best with your recovery and looking forward to hearing of your progress from time to time.

I tried cbd oil with thc in it, have to syringe it , same amount as the gummies. Still provides much of the sleep benefit. Seems diff strains and brands have different effects even though it says it is the same. I feel more tired during the day on gummies, less on the oil.

I have some gummies coming that also have 10mg CBG added, see how that goes.

I’ve tried 50/50 CBD + CBG hoping the CBG might add something but I got nothing from it. You’re right about different strains. I was using a very good sativa for a lot of months and it was definitely uplifting. Then I decided to try indica because one of the benefits is for relaxation and to aid sleep. For me, it did the opposite! I couldn’t switch off at night. I go through phases of using it during the day but would never take it late in the day or before bedtime now. At one point, I was up to 200mg a day of sativa, hoping it would help with altered sensation, and in a way, it did, because it elevated my mood to the point where I was less bothered by it but it was getting expensive. Once I’ve used up my stashšŸ˜† I probably won’t buy any more as I’m pursuing other ways to help with sensory issues.

Hope you get some benefit from the gummies with CBG added. We never know if we don’t try!

As an aside, is your BP still good?

BP went ā€œnormalā€ on the oil, have to take atenelol to get good results for the bp. Back to the gummies soon. Did you notice anything with the CBG?

No, I didn’t notice anything different with the CBG even after using it for a couple of weeks. But it might make a difference for you!

Tried 4000mg CBD oil for about six months, didn’t improve sleep or relieve neuropathic pain, but our bodies and brain all react differently to homeopathic and, indeed, pharmaceutical medicines. Sounds and calming thoughts work best for me, sleep wise. I’m keen to experiment with some Ayurveda medicine, particularly for neuropathic pain. Most of natural medicines need to be taken long term, as far as I understand.

It is the thc that helps sleep imo, not the cbd but that has it’s own interactions! 10 hours sleep a night, feels awesome.

Nothing massive noticed with CBG but I feel like the gummies are up to something besides helping sleep don’t know. Got daily improvements atm it is hard to know why.

I’m coming very late to this conversation.but better that than never. I was thinking of CBD gummies to help with my poor sleep pattern and asked the pharmacist who, knowing I was already on termazapine for post TIA anxiety issues, advised strongly against. Just wondering if anyone out there has a view on this?

Hello @Jamesp
Do you mean Temazepam?
If so, CBD could increase the side effects of temazepam. But take a look at Drug Interactions Checker for further info.

I’ve been experimenting with different CBD oils. I’ve finally found one that helps and I suspect it would possibly be even more effective at double or more times the dose but cost is prohibitive. I take 300mg a day.

Thank you for the information and I must apologise for misleading you; my medication is mirtazapine.

I know nothing about CBD but it’s terrible affects on memory. I have however heard about etanercept a drug used for stroke survivors to Research has found peri-spinal etanercept results in significant improvements in: Behavior . Central post-stroke pain syndrome (CPSP) – A disabling condition characterized by pain and sensory abnormalities in parts of the body supplied by those nerves present in the area of the brain injured by the strok. I watch a podcast by an Australian on youtube who like us had a stroke he interviews people all over the world to discuss their post-stroke journey.

Ran CBD for a bit for tingling and numbness, kinda there but easy to second guess if it’s doing anything or not.

CBG felt different, more noticeable in how the nerves react, less of that dull background feeling and more like actual signal coming through. Not subtle in the same way CBD was, it hits a bit more upfront
