Has anyone had a cataract removed post stroke?
Janet1, Hi yes I had a cataract done 1 and 1/2 years after my stroke.It was my 2nd one. I was a bit worried when it was being done but I felt the nurse squeeze my hand and I relaxed a bit. Then it was over! It was done so quickly then I was taken off in a wheelchair (which I don,t normally use) .The tea was good though!

Whist the answer to your question is “No”, it should be said that during a hospital visit the consultant did say there is no reason why the cataract could not be removed. He noticed during the routine examination Mum (who is a stroke survivor) had cataracts and asked why we hadn’t had them removed!
I am sure you will be advised if there is any reason why you should not have your cataract removed.
