HelloAnn - hope you got rested at the weekend and new week is off to a good start.

Just checking in with a couple of puzzles - still struggling on the connections (missed yesterday and still working on todays, but others not too bad.

I have my Bronze status back on the Waffle and got the Deluxe done with 1*. I expect you must be a GoldStream Waffler by now

I had a good weekend thanks. Had a funeral yesterday which went as well as these things can and back to work today.

Hope things have settled again for you and that you are starting to get back on an even keel.

Well done on your puzzles and rejoining the bronze team. I have joined the gold team again. So I am now aiming to beat my last target which if I recall was 65? Or somewhere around there.

We booked a holiday yesterday so nice to have that to look forward to. It isn’t until Sept but that gives me time to save some pennies. We are off to Tenerife. We have been before and like it there. It will test my mobility but we like a challenge

Well done on booking your holiday. Nice to have something to look forward to.
Haven’t been to a funeral or wedding for some time now. There was a time when they were quite frequent. Not sure if it is generational i.e. certain age categories get married and the others die unless they have an accident and get killed or get struck by the dreaded C word.

You’re doing well on the puzzles and I am sure you will beat your PB

I’m still getting blown out by the connections but doing OK ish on the others.

- really couldn’t get my head round this, though I feel I was robbed as one of my guesses is actually a connection but not in the way this person set it. I guessed HEAVY, FLY, BANTAM and FEATHER as boxing weight categories and they absolutely are, but in this case the computer said “No!”

Like you I haven’t been to a funeral or wedding for a while. I do have 2 weddings to go to this year too. Must be our turn. Hopefully there won’t be any more funerals for a while.

Well done on your continued puzzle success. I am in complete agreement with you on Connections. I’m sometimes convinced I have the right connection but it isn’t the one the have. I think they should come around to our way of thinking

I had a much better nights sleep last night. Still feeling whacked but that’s an accumulation of everything that has been going on mixed with Stroke Fatigue. It’ll improve though. As you say any mistakes I make at work can be corrected. I’d just prefer not to make them I did have a better day at work yesterday and managed to get a couple of jobs out the way that had been hanging over me for a while. That has helped loads.

Well done on sticking with connections and getting there and also for completing the other puzzles.

I had a good day with them again too.

Waffle was a lovely 5*s and my gold streak continues.

It’s funny how the ones that are meant to be the easiest were the ones I got by default.

I am typing this whilst hubby is watching the 6 Nations Rugby. It clearly isn’t going well as there is a lor of countering going on…

Yes, waffle was tricky and well done.
Sometimes the easiest are not the easiest - there’s that phrase (there are always phrases ) - “It’s only easy when/if you knows how!”

Weekend not so great so far. Overslept and didn’t get to pick up Mum’s prescription, but we have one day’s supply so hopefully we’ll get it on Monday. Talk about cutting it fine - old habits die hard (sorry I can’t help quoting phrases or linking to songs - these have become part of my life). But hopefully it (the weekend) will improve.

I watch most sports but somehow I have never managed to get into Rugby. I remember in the 70’s Wales had a strong Rugby team and I think Gareth Edwards was a captain or certainly a big name in the game and he was a captain on “A Question of Sport” opposite Emlyn Hughes (Crazy Horse - Liverpool and England footballer). The days when a Question of Sport was a must watch.

It’s amazing how when we oversleep the day seems to go pear shaped. You must have needed the sleep though. Hopefully you’ll get your mums meds ok on Monday but 111 can do emergency prescriptions if necessary I believe.

I get annoyed with myself if I drop a letter in the wrong place. But at least you still got there.

Wordle was another 4 for me. But it was a hard fought 4. Took me ages to find a word that fitted the letters I had found. I don’t know what ny streak is for wordle.

Yes, I think lack of sleep is catching up with me - the same as when Mum went a month without sleep and ended up in hospital. At least I can manage my problem as it’s known I just need to organise myself better and get the full rest I need. Her’s was a problem with us stabbing in the dark.

Thanks for the 111 tip - I hadn’t heard that before but I think the Abbott’s nurses may also have mentioned it last week when they visited.

Mum doing OK today and hopefully we’ll get the meds tomorrow. My back/leg problem has also resolved and so if I can drag myself out of bed I can go and do an hour of pilates

Well, another new week is here. It’s a little warmer today and we’ve had a rain free day. Spring is on its way

Hope you managed to get a better nights sleep and managed to get your mums meds sorted. Lack if sleep always makes everything so much harder.

Well done on the puzzles & even if you didn’t complete connections you weren’t too far away really as you had 3 of the blue aswell as solving the yellow. The Americanisms always make it more difficult.

Puzzles went ok for a Monday. Waffle was done with 3*s remaining. Took me a bit to get started but once I did it went ok although never heard of Anime although I now know it is a Japanese animation artistic style. I haven’t attempted Deluxe Waffle yet.

Yes, it is another week but now the days (weekdays and weekends) are getting blurred. I haven’t a clue where the weekend went!

It seems Mum might be suffering from constipation - we are trying different feeds and mixes of fibre to try and manage the bloating. It’s more trickier than we might think.

Also, she seems to have caught a virus and she is wheezing - she is on antibiotics (which may be adding to the constipation problems, though it could be the steroids). Things are getting a bit desperate. I am having to develop an ever thickening skin in an effort to stay “sane” when she yells out in pain

On the plus side - I managed to drag myself out of bed and made it to my first exercise/physical activity session. I got the dates and times mixed up and so ended up doing a bit of Yoga and then a QiGong session.

I also managed to do the puzzles.

Sorry to hear you’re having a rough time of it again. I really hope you get the constipation issues your mum is having sorted as it can be very painful. I imagine listening to her shouting all the time is awful especially when you’re trying your best to help her but things seemingly aren’t getting any better. I hope she gets rid of the virus soon too. My hubby has had a virus for about 3 weeks now and his cough doesn’t seem to be going anywhere fast. Whatever the bug is that is going around does seem to be a nasty one.

Glad you managed to get to your exercise session even if it wasn’t the one you were expecting.

Well done on your puzzles yesterday. To get a full set with everything you have going on is amazing.

I have solved todays. Waffle was a 3* for me. So average should still be creeping upwards. Currently 2.86 – I think it was 2.85 last time I checked.

Wow Ann - Impressive 4 * on Deluxe Waffle. You really are very good on the Deluxe
Not bad on the other puzzles either.

I blew out on the Deluxe, scraped through on some and did OK on others.

Mum’s story needs an update for the forum as I believe I may have discovered the cause of one of her long term ailments. All I’ll say for now is we had another terrible night but right now she is very relaxed and resting
