It’s great to hear your mum is almost back to herself and has even started singing again. I bet it is great to hear her. If her reflux has settled everything is best left alone.

With regards to her meds. You could perhaps collect some even if you decide to try her without. At least then you will have some to hand should (hopefully not) you need to give her some again.

The Apple Cart might get rocked as it’s decision time on the meds. But all swell so far and if we stick with our philosophy and beliefs and that have brought us to where we are today then surely we cannot go wrong.

I have told someone on this forum that every decision / choice you make is right. On that basis and with that belief I have no reason to do whatever I do when I do it.

Managed to do the puzzles having been rudely awoken mid-sleep !!

Mum seems to be having a wobble, GP is consulting the hospital consultant to seek recommendation on next steps for medications.
Bloating seems to be gathering pace - concluding more physical activity is needed. She has been allowed to blob post discharge from hospital and also meds are keeping her “sedated” but I think it is time to start moving again.

I totally agree with your point about all decisions being right. We all make decision for the right reasons at the time. Sometimes the decision might have to change based on new evidence appearing but that doesn’t make the original decision a wrong one.

Sorry to hear your mum is having a difficult day. More exercise could help. Easier said than done though. Hope the GP gets back to you soon re meds.

Yes, another week has flown by.
Mum is doing OK.
Hopefully she will get more rested over the weekend, though of course every day is the same for her.

Good to see we both seem to be ending the week with a winning streak on the puzzles. I think I’ve had a good week on that front - maybe connections are beginning to click in place and I should get a higher win rate.

Hello Ann - The weekend is going OK and I did think about pruning the apple tree, but as Rupert suggested it is OK for a little longer and also should not do it in cold weather I will wait at least until the end of this month and then hopefully not miss out

Weather here is not great either - very cold which normally I would not notice, but today I am feeling it for some reason.

I am stuck on connections and Wordle having made the orange connection, lost a life with “one away” on the second guess and struggling to see what that “one” might be. On the Wordle, after two guesses I have got three of the five letters "SU A " and for the life of me I can’t see what the two missing letters can be. I’ve used up “ERTIG” and none of the remaining/available letters make any sense. So it’s back burner time.

Very nearly blew the Waffle and just got in with a “Phew!” and zero stars. But happy for the run to continue. So if I make it I’ll update but otherwise, not a great day on the puzzles and so I might just watch a bit of snooker or something. Mum needs some activity so I’ll help her with the revitive and see if we can do some light arm and leg stretches etc. Revitive will help with the circulation and activity hopefully will help move trapped wind which remains a bug bear.

Well done on solving yesterday’s puzzles. I had never heard of yesterday’s word either. Like you i had to guess a bit. I had some letters that could only ho in one place so was able to work it out. I suppose I should look up what the word means.

Well, it is Monday again and I am sure someone keeps stealing the weekends A sign that the weekend was good I am sure. Hope yours was ok too.

Still plenty of time for apple tree pruning yet I think. We had a dry and bright day on Saturday so think Hubby took the opportunity to do the trees whilst he could. The forecast for the next couple of weeks is looking wet and potentially snowy. Hubby just likes spending time outside too. He doesn’t need an excuse.

Puzzles were a mixed bag today.

Waffle went great and a storming 5*s. I usually do this puzzle first so was great to get off to a good start.

Sorry Ann - it was a bit naughty of me to say I’m off to sign language. There was no sign and I don’t think there will be in the near future. As good as the idea is, it is not practical for us and in some ways we already use a form of sign language (in the crudest sense) and verbal language to communicate with Mum. Despite what we say, I feel we must be communicating well to have achieved what we have. Mum is never left in pain or distressed (beyond a reasonable amount) and we almost or possibly always resolve the issues.

My sister has her day job and for the three of us to learn sign language is not something we can manage right now. There are so many other things to do and as I said, all things considered we probably communicate as well as if not better than might be expected. I honestly don’t hear Mum complaining and neither do we because to be fair she is reasonable and understands she cannot demand and expect as we do our best but sometimes the best is not good enough and so have to park it until another time.

So the sign language is a nice to have. We focus on the physical side and have chats and sing songs when in the mood. We are waiting for the aftershock of the last incident to settle and we shall continue full steam ahead.

Stroke clinic went well. I saw someone who explained things a bit better for me so a lot of my ongoing symptoms now make a bit more sense. I had all my questions answered and they went through my scans again too. They still can’t do anything for my dragging leg and not being able to lift my foot off the floor though. But I will keep working on that. One day it will lift .
