Good afternoon / G’day [Fill in suitable greeting as you prefer]

Sometimes, or more often than not, this forum gets me thinking or it sets me onto a path I might not otherwise travel on.

I am on such a trip right now and so this is a post which I hope some may find interesting. I should warn you, reader, this is just my own little release from the stresses and strains that life throws at us/me. It is not meant to be anything more than a personal therapeutic post.

So, if you feel you don’t like to waste time which for many this will be, please don’t read any further. If on the other hand you don’t mind, or even if you would like to share your thoughts, whatever they may be, please do carry on reading :slight_smile:

Some light-hearted or possibly mindless ramble ...

This forum is so rich and varied, and it is my opinion that like the brain which it has been suggested is so huge that we only use 10% of it or something like that (which is not strictly true btw) maybe most people don’t see more than 10% of this forum. For this reason, when I saw this on another post, which I personally have seen and follow in its entirety, I felt I simply had to give those members who haven’t seen it, or will ever see it, the opportunity to see it?

If I understand how this forum works, the post from which this link comes has had over 20k (that’s twenty thousand in old money) views but only 23 members have commented or responded. So a quick bit of mintal rithmitic tells me that is (23/20k) less than 1% (or 0.11%) of the viewers commented.

That is intriguing is it not?
A post that generates 20k+ views but where <0.2% comment (I’m showing off my mathsmatics skills here :slight_smile:

Well anyway, having been suitably intrigued, I thought I would create this post, mostly for my own amusement, for I do like to be amused once in a while, but also perhaps to get others to see if they too might feel the same level of intrigue.

It is possible that instead of intrigue, the post me generate some bemusement or any number of other emotions. It may even prampt some to comment.

Three months after my stroke, sat on my wheelchair in front of a second hand newly bought recycled laptop at home. Bed and chair bound, bored out of my skull I embarked on this new venture. (Now more than four years old)

Having over the years become a notorious visitor to these forums you’ve probably seen me, here and there, stirring things up. As I do.

I thought to myself, this forum needs a diversion.

As all important as the subject of stroke is maybe looking in a different direction for a minute would be useful.

That thread was, possibly, my earliest attempt to create such a diversion. It took on a life of its own and continues to trundle along doing its own thing.

Its popularity is manifold, it is totally anarchic, doing as it pleases in its own way, obeys no man or woman, invents and reinvents itself. It is, like myself, at times imperfect but nevertheless, loved.

Thank you to those who have participated.
Long may it continue.

@ManjiB I like a stat or 2 too. I suspect people just like to see how warped some of our minds are :grin::grin::grin:

I’ll have you know I’m an ordinary everyday person, just had a few bumps, scratches, with some bent and broken bits.
(just teasing, but beware I can be merciless)

I’m still almost the same as everyone else.

A nice slice of chocolate cake and I’ll be as right as rain on an English summer’s day.

I was referring to my mind @Bobbi :rofl::rofl: which at times has a little mind of its own and does some very random things. :grin:

Chocolate cake does sound good though :face_savoring_food:
