Amitriptyline for Pins and Needles

Please SOMEONE tell me that they have found some sort of relief for this stiffness. I thought it could not get any worse but I was wrong. Did anyone try Botox? I swear if I get any stiffer, I am going to be a damn statue. Sorry this sounds rough but my quality of life is non existent and I know I’m not the only person suffering from this evil emerging symptom. I was not this miserable when I was paralyzed tbh.

Thank you for that information.

Worried about compassion fatigue here as I go on about the same thing but here goes, now my therapies are all ending next week due to this rigidity/stiffness I have that is interfering with progress. I have tried baclofen but it doesn’t seem to help much. The therapists are suggesting Botox which I was previously denied due to my functionality. In the meantime, I am really emotionally affected by being told that I am currently not progressing and what we are doing is not helping. I still walk plus go to the gym only to have my body feels like a stiff left sided block of concrete.

Thank you for posting that link.

Has ANYONE received SOME relief for the stiffness? I am so over this tight rubber band feeling and have exhausted all medications plus stayed in therapy for a year now.

My right leg and foot on pins needles.

Pins and needles not as distressing for me as the tight band stiffness which led me to this thread.

Does anything help you with that pins and needles feeling?

My right foot always feels like pins and needles

I haven’t been therapy in while

Ladt night and today I have hardtime walking on my right foot

How long did it take the exercise to start helping? I go to the gym plus still do physical therapies and no relief from the stiffness and pain.

I have that feeling sometimes

if you mean, it feels like rubberbands are stretched to the limit pulling at the base of your toes and hand, I have that almost constantly on my left side. No one in health field is concerned about it or seems to really understand. It is quite uncomfortable but like ear ringing, and pins and needles feeling, one tends to get used to them after awhile and ignore them as much as possible to do other things. I know gabapentin did not help with that, although that is not what I take it for. Demerol works well…being sedated makes everything fine for me, but I wouldn’t want to live the rest of my life that way unless it were pretty close to being over.

My right foot has swelling in it

My feeling is like a horrible squeezing rubber band wrapped around which causes my leg to become so stiff. Sort of like a brace on my leg. There were several other people on here who complained of the exact same thing, even the later onset after initially making great progress. I’m hoping to hear anything.

I used wear two foot brace now just left foot only

Hi yes i do. From the moment I realised i had the stroke. It feels like the top of my leg is being squeezed and as the day goes on it gets tighter and tighter. I have tried gabapentin and pregabalin but hasn’t made any difference. As with my pins and needles i find distraction helps x
