Like others, I am computer-illiterate and do not know where to start !
Hi @bob.isle
Don’t worry, you’ve managed to post on here so you’re doing well so far. ![]()
We have some guides to help you in how to use the site, you can find these guides by clicking on the below link in blue.
Help Centre - Jira Service Management
Lots of people start with sharing a little about themselves and what’s happened although you don’t necessarily need to do that, if you have questions about what’s happened to you, feel free to ask them and if you need anything whilst you’re using the Online Community don’t hesitate to tag me using the @ symbol and my username.

Don’t talk to me abou spiders freak me out, struggle to get back in to stroke form, had stroke 2022. I ok now. But moved from. Somerset to derbyshire, been struggling to get back to form tricia
I recently had seiza in hospital 5 days is that to do with stress or stroke, as i had a few in hospital last oct, the first time i had after two years post stroke brother and hubby weren’t well trica
Spiders definitely freak me out and the one crawling up my back didn’t help my fear of them! I’ve just moved from Derbyshire!
I’m sorry to hear about your seizure. Have you spoken with the hospital team about what could have caused it?
Anna
@Anna_Moderator,
Hello Anna, I am attempting to message you , but as I am so completely computer-illiterate, I am not certain I am doing the right thing on my desktop. One issue I experience is that regular computer users know all the lingo that is involved and they often assume everyone is at the same level of understanding and competence as themselves. For example, I may be advised to “tag me like this<@Anna> etc” but I don’t (or didn’t) know WHERE to enter that (and I do not know what “tag me” means!). I am an old man now but I recall school playground games called “tag”.If I send a normal email, I enter the intended recipients name in the “to” box, but there does not seem to be one of those on your system.
Anna, one thing I have noticed during my frequent visits to your site, is the number of people who mention autism as one of their symptoms. IS THERE A LINK BETWEEN AUTISM AND STROKE? I will be very interested to hear from other stroke survivors, of their views/experiences.
Best regards and thanks for your patience and guidance in the past.
Bob Isle.
Hi Anna,
I’ve tried a couple of times to contact you but my message seems to have gone to other people ! As I have said, I am completely useless with computers. If you see this will you please reply, so that I can in turn reply to you? Thanks.
Bob Isle
Hello Tricia3,
I’m sorry, but I have no recollection of ever having contacted you or having EVER mentioned SPIDERS to anyone ! They are not a subject that interest me! If I am mistaken, I apologise.
Your message sounded a little rude.
Regards,
Bob Isle
What part of derbyshire did you move from. We moved from somerset to be closer to son
What does “pop a ticket through the service desk”, mean?
Bob Isle
Hi @bob.isle
You can find your messages in your profile section. I’ve put a some pictures below for you of how to find that section. You’ll need to go to the message where we’ve already been talking to message me. I’ll also put another message through to you there.
Click the little person icon twice, as shown below
Then click on messages, this will take you to all your messages and will be able to find the message chat that we were using the other week:
Where we say tag, it means that when you write someone’s username they will get notified that someone has specifically mentioned them. To ‘tag’ someone, you need to put the @ symbol in front of their username.
When I’ve mentioned putting a ticket through to the service desk, this is what people use when they need help with something specific on the site, you’ve put through a couple of tickets to the service already. You can find the service desk by clicking on the below section which is on the left hand side of your screen:
Scroll to the bottom of the page that it takes you to, and click on this button that I’ve put a red square around.
At the moment you’re using the ‘chat to Anna’ category rather than the messages we were chatting in before. In this category, there are also other people ‘chatting’ to me which you will be able to see, just as others will be able to see yours. When Tricia was writing about spiders, that was in response to me not liking spiders. I will also be replying directly to Tricia in this chat.
I hope this helps to explain some of things you asked about. With regards to a link between stroke and autism, as I’m not medically trained, I can’t really answer that question. You could have a look on our website to see if there is any information there or there may be some people on here who will respond with their own experiences of this.
Anna
Hi @tricia3
I was in south Derbyshire, about 20 mins from Derby centre. I hope you’ll like living there and I’m sure it will be nice to be closer to your son. ![]()
Anna
Hi Anna,
I have noticed that several contributors have said that whilst they understand how to contact you by using the @ sign and your username, they do not know where to type it (NOR DO I!) So, I am using the “reply” function to send this. Not everyone is computer-literate but computer experts don’t seem to understand this ! Anna, forgive my asking, but are you and Alex real persons or AI 's ? It’s hard to tell these days !
Regards,
Bob Isle.
PS When I type on the symbols at the top of this box, I cannot get bold type or underscore. Any ideas, please?
Hi Bob,
Myself and Alex are real life people! ![]()
About tagging people and using the @ symbol. You can type this in your message, so you could do something like the below:
Hi @bob.isle to start your message.
If you want to put something in bold, click in the box where you want to type the bold item. Then press on the bold button, this will bring up some text that says ‘strong text’ with two * either side. You can delete the words 'strong text and start typing in the middle of the *.

You can also highlight the text you want to put in bold by holding down the right button on your mouse and dragging the curser across the words you want to bold. Once this is highlighted, you can press on the bold button.
Do let me know if you have any other questions and I’d be happy to help, alternatively I could also give you a call if that would help.

Hi @Paul
Welcome to the community, you’re definitely in the right place to talk to people about recovery and share how you’re doing.
If you need any help with using the Online Community, please don’t hesitate to tag me using the @ symbol and my username.

Hello Paul,
WEelcome to the community;
I regret that I will probably not be much help to you as I am more than double your age !
Regards,
Bob Isle..
Hello Anna, not sure how to contact you, so have done it like this! Following the Share & Listen on Thursday 06/08, when we went into breakout rooms, I was kicked out
I tried several times to rejoin, but it kept saying I am unable to rejoin the meeting as I was previously removed by the host? Please advise for future meetings! Thanks, Traci
Hey Traci!
Ahh I’m sorry you couldn’t re-join! It must have been because I removed the other one you when there was two of you in the meeting (I hope that makes sense!)
which is why you couldn’t get back in, I’m so sorry, I didn’t realise that would happen! I think it would just be for that meeting and you should still be able to get into the others as normal. Were you planning on coming to the quiz tomorrow, if so I’ll let Nicola know to keep an eye out for you joining
