The support we give will need to change if…

…there is any validity in the attached and similar

(And it’s worth saying COVID has a correlation to heart attacks and probably strokes. Whether or not the vaccine adds or subtracts to the incidence is a moot point)

I’ve seen quite a few allusions to similar statistics or contributory factors such as the correlation between processed foods, carbonated drinks etc and clotting factors and diabetes and thus clotting factors

There was a perception in medical circles and wider population previously that stroke was common in the geriatric population and rare elsewhere.

The trend over the last couple of decades and possibly the last half decade is that while it is still common in the geriatric population it’s becoming much more prevalent in a wider-spread of demographics.

Attitudes and support norms in many parts of society and organisations will face a challenge as a result.
My personal experience is that that attempts to articulate that challenge are met with reactions that have been a complete surprise (and a source of distress for me) - I hope to speak about this in Prague in March at ELASF[1]

I’m sure as individuals we Will give the best peer support we can. I also believe that as a group, a community that exists across the boundaries of different platforms to connect We will develop both better ideas and wider influence
