3 month update

Just thought I’d update on my progress at 12 weeks!

Balance etc is greatly improved. Have more physio today and have been doing exercises daily. My right hand is almost perfect. I’d say I’ve got to a solid 95% recovery.
Fatigue almost entirely gone now, even a very active day will only make me feel a bit more tired than pre stroke (and by 9/10pm)

Headaches are back to being frequent after a week or two of almost none - and when they flare up it feels like I get brain fog and a bit more unbalanced.

The night of my stroke I had a weird pain in my right side arm pit area, this seems to be flaring up which concerns me a bit?! It could be completely coincidental but because it happened when I had the stroke I tend to associate it with that…

Matt,

well done with progress. Headaches ; I would look into balancing electrolytes. Particularly keep an eye on getting enough potassium. Right arm pit ; did you ever have an injury there? if so the body (I should say the brain) revisits old injuries, after a stroke, and tries to repair them. Whether that is indeed what is happening or not, it’s very likely connected with your stroke. It’s what I call an anomaly. I have a half a douzen on my list.

Good luck, R

@matt_d13 sounds like you’re making some solid progress whixh is great to hear.

Your headaches could be a fatigue symptom as it can manifest in many ways and not just being very tired.

The arm put pain is a strange one and may or may not be related. If it doesn’t settle you might want to get it checked.

Great to read your positive update.

Thanks both! Will add some more electrolytes in to see how that goes. Maybe an electrolyte sports drink

It could well be the fatigue. I used to get tiredness and headaches so it would make sense to still have one and not the other.

I was thinking more like coconut water for the electrolytes, the sports drinks or energy drinks are often just caffeine and sugar traps. So careful, they cause brain fog and tiredness. Check they are giving you electrolytes (K+, Mg for mitochondria)
